With winter break, these past few weeks have been a little slow, but I've still found some fascinating projects to work on. Currently, the majority of my study is centered around the medical errors that arise in the practice of forensic autopsy. I worked on an essay that aided me enhance this area of my work and taught me a lot of new information I didn't recognize.
The article highlights the importance of reducing errors in autopsies by utilizing postmortem applications like X-rays, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. Technical errors in photography can lead to inaccurate evidence, and tampering with the quality of a diagnosis or trial. The article also mentions a lack of attendees at the autopsy site, which could contribute to a variety of perspectives and ensure greater accuracy and honesty. The fourth and fifth mistake is missing documentation, leading to failure in disclosing the client. These documents must be over-reported or under-reported, but must contain essential details.
I want to work with my mentor over the next two weeks to carefully think through my ideas for my final project. This could vary extensively, but with an immense amount of effort, I will be able to produce something that integrates all of my work.
