Chapter 1: Researching

As I started looking for my article to write about, I came to a block. The world of this field is often seen through one lens: morbid. Countless articles mentioned death but few mentioned the life that is brought with this path. I took it upon myself to search through the fields of articles to see one that brought me knowledge that I yet quite did not grasp. Stumbling upon one, it immersed me to another path where it showed not only aspects of the deaths such as death certificates and regulations, but also the life the forensic pathology course offered.It depicted the life of closure that is given to victims' families and the education it serves to provide all of the people who aren't as aware of the aspects that go on. In the event of a violent attack, it gives law enforcement access to specific descriptions of the tools or techniques used to inflict fatalities on people in the community. Each piece of information that is released helps to save another life. Through writing about not only what I learned but how I would apply this to my future research, I started understanding the more underlying facts about this path. One of my main objectives in carrying out this process is to spread knowledge and educate people about what they might not be exposed to. With this, I cannot wait to see what lies ahead in my journey within ISM.
